MS. CINDY LASKY: At The Lasky Law Firm we handle all types of family law cases, everything from a common divorce to an alimony or paternity action, to issues involving child support and custody, even grandparent visitation. We also handle a great deal of military divorce.

In family law, we typically expect to see a husband and wife, and that is typical. However, we might see a mother and father, because we may have a paternity action, or in some instances, we may see family members, because in Florida there are certain circumstances under which family members can get custody of children.

One important message that we have to clients is to be sure and hire competent counsel to assist them through the divorce process. Once a final judgment has been rendered in Florida, most aspects of that final judgment cannot later be modified. Therefore, if a mistake’s been made, it’s very likely that it cannot be corrected.

While you’re going through the process of a divorce, you’re going to find that your emotions are at their peak, and therefore some of your judgment and reasoning may not be sound. That’s how you and I will work together hand-in-hand.
