The Lasky Law Firm Motto
Effective January 29, 2024, all persons who have or call a cell phone or telephone number, (including our office number), in area code 904, must dial all ten digits when placing a call, i.e., the area code plus the number, including calls within the same area code. We recommend everyone begin the new dialing practice now to ensure success when calling the office. Thank you.

Jacksonville Military Timesharing & Visitation Lawyer

If you are involved in a divorce or other family law matter that impacts your custody or timesharing (visitation) rights, it is critical that you retain an experienced family law attorney. Cases involving military personnel and their spouses can be particularly challenging due to issues such as deployment and relocation.

You can find the highly qualified representation you require at Lasky Law Firm. Our lawyers have more than 80 years of combined legal experience. Military family law is our focus. In fact, the majority of the cases we handle are military-related.

We proudly serve members and member spouses of all branches of the armed services: Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force. We also represent active duty reserve members and Coast Guard personnel. To schedule a consultation with a Jacksonville military divorce lawyer at our firm, contact our Jacksonville or Clay County Law Office.

New Laws Impacting Your Timesharing Rights

Recent changes to the law provide powerful protection for military personnel:

  • Military parents who are unavailable due to the needs of the military to exercise timesharing to which they would otherwise be entitled may designate another qualified family member during that parent’s absence.
  • Military parents who are assigned to military service may petition for expedited hearings.
  • The nonmilitary parent is required to cooperate and attempt to resolve timesharing disputes and share information regarding the minor child or children.
  • Provides additional protections regarding custody orders and modifications [CS/CS/HB 25].

Florida law also provides for the possibility of extended timesharing when military personnel are on leave. Other rights and protections are provided by Florida law. We encourage you to contact our attorneys if you are involved in a divorce or family law matter that impacts your custody or timesharing rights.
